Privacy policy
The short version: files you open on pdftojpg.dev stay on your device. The site has no accounts and shows no ads. It counts visits with Google Analytics, and one switch turns that off.
Who we are
This policy covers the website pdftojpg.dev, which is operated by Springtide Labs LLC (Delaware, USA) and is referred to here as pdftojpg.dev, we or us. You can reach us at hello@pdftojpg.dev.
Files you open
Every tool on the site runs in your web browser. When you choose a PDF or an image, the page's own JavaScript reads it on your device, and the result is created on your device too.
Your files are never sent to us. The site is made of static files and has no upload endpoint, so we cannot see, store or keep copies of your documents, their names or their contents. Passwords you type to open a protected PDF are used in your browser only.
Visit counting
We don't ask for your name or your email address, and there are no accounts.
To learn which tools people use, the site counts visits with Google Analytics 4, a service run by Google. For each page it records the page address, the page that linked you here, your browser, device type and screen size, and an approximate location (country and city) that Google derives from your IP address. The converter also reports a few events: that PDFs were added, that a conversion finished with the format, DPI and page count you chose, and how you saved the result. Google Analytics never receives your files, their names, their contents or the text inside them.
Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_TFHF8P60K7, so that a returning browser is counted once; they expire after up to two years. Advertising features and Google signals are switched off, and no advertising cookies are set. The site's Analytics account keeps event-level data for 14 months, the longest setting a standard Google Analytics property offers; after that Google deletes it on a monthly cycle, while summary reports remain. Google's privacy policy describes how Google handles this data.
Google Analytics is on unless you turn it off. Choose Turn it off in the notice shown on your first visit, or set Google Analytics to Off at the bottom of any page: it then stops loading in this browser, its cookies are removed, and other open tabs of the site stop it too. This switch covers Google Analytics only; Cloudflare's cookieless page counts, described under hosting, are part of how the site is delivered and keep running. Your choice is kept in a small first-party cookie, pj-visits, for up to two years, and clearing the site's data resets it. If your browser refuses to keep it, the choice applies to the page you are on only. Google also offers a browser add-on that blocks Google Analytics on every site.
Hosting and server logs
The site's static files are delivered by Cloudflare. When your browser requests a page, Cloudflare receives standard request information, such as your IP address, your browser's user agent, the address requested and the time, and may log it to protect the site against abuse and attacks.
Cloudflare also adds its own Web Analytics script to the pages. It counts page views and measures how fast pages load, without cookies, and it never sees your files.
This information never includes the content of your files, because your files are never sent. Cloudflare describes how it handles request data in its own privacy policy.
If you email us
If you write to hello@pdftojpg.dev, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you and to deal with the issue you raise. We don't add you to a mailing list, and you can ask us to delete your messages at any time.
Please don't attach a confidential document to an email. A description of the problem is usually enough.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA may give you rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. The tools never collect your files. Apart from email you send us, the data about your visits is the Google Analytics counting described above, held without your name or email address and switchable off at any time, and Cloudflare's cookieless page counts. Write to hello@pdftojpg.dev and we will answer your request.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone through the tools. If a child has emailed us and a parent or guardian wants that message deleted, contact hello@pdftojpg.dev.
Changes to this policy
If the way the site handles data changes, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
